Upgrade your plan

Upgrades take effect immediately. The upgrade options available to you depend on your current plan.

Self-serve upgrades (available from your dashboard)

If you’re on one of the following plans, you can upgrade directly from your Hootsuite dashboard without contacting Support:

• Older legacy plans: Professional to a Team plan.
• Recent legacy plans: Standard to Advanced.
• New Social OS plans: Suite Standard to Suite Professional or Suite Advanced.

Upgrading to a Social OS plan from an older plan

If you're on a legacy plan (Professional, Team, Standard, or Advanced) and want to move to a Suite plan, you'll need to create a new account on one of the Suite plans. To ensure a smooth transition and get help moving your data from your current plan, reach out to our support team and we'll guide you through the process.

Upgrading to an Enterprise plan

To change to an Enterprise plan, visit the Enterprise Plan page.

1. Go to Account, and then select Social accounts and teams.
2. Select Plan and billing in the navigation pane.
3. Select Update subscription to change your plan.

Switch to a plan with fewer features

If you change to a plan with fewer features, your changes take effect at the end of your current paid period. This allows you to continue to benefit from all of your current plan features until the period ends. You can currently switch your Team plan to a Professional plan using these instructions. You must be an organization Super Admin to make these changes.

To change to or from an Enterprise plan, visit the Enterprise Plan page.

To switch to a plan with fewer features, do the following:

1. Remove excess social accounts - Some plan types restrict the number of social accounts you can manage (for example, you can manage 10 accounts with the Professional plan). If you have more than the maximum allowed number of social accounts for the plan you are switching to, you must remove the extras before you can switch plans. For instructions, see Manage your organization's social accounts or Remove a social account from Hootsuite.
2. Leave your organization or transfer ownership - If you are an owner of an organization and other members of the organization will continue using Hootsuite, you must transfer ownership of the organization. See Transfer ownership of a Hootsuite account for instructions. If you are a member of an organization and are switching to a Professional plan, you must first leave that organization. For instructions, see Leave an organization.
3. Go to Account, and then select Social accounts and teams.
4. Select Plan and billing in the navigation pane.
5. Select Update subscription to change your plan.

Cancel your subscription

If you cancel your subscription, your changes take effect at the end of your paid or trial period. This means you can continue to benefit from all of your current plan features until that period ends. If you're a member of a Hootsuite organization, you must be a Super Admin to make these changes.

We'll keep the door open for you here at Hootsuite. Come back at any time to restart your subscription. When you do, we'll restore your account information and data to make it easy to get back up and running.

1. Go to Account, and then select Plan and billing.
2. Select Update subscription to cancel your subscription.

Delete your Hootsuite account

If you delete your account, you will lose access to Hootsuite, your scheduled content will be permanently deleted, and the email associated with that account cannot be used for a future Hootsuite account. Consider canceling your subscription instead.

Deleting your account takes effect immediately and accounts are not recoverable.

Note: Did you sign up for a subscription on your mobile device? If so, don't forget to cancel your mobile app store subscription on Google Play or Apple App Store at least 24 hours before your next billing date.

Tip: If you experience issues updating your plan or account information, try the steps outlined in Troubleshoot display issues.
