Manage your Hootsuite plan and account

You can manage your Hootsuite plan and account settings at any time. You can update your payment information, change your plan type, change your billing frequency (monthly or annual), cancel your subscription, or delete your account.

If your account is overdue or suspended, you're going to have to update your payment information before you can make changes to it. Learn how to manage an overdue or suspended account.

Update your payment information

1. Go to Account, and then select Plan and billing.
2. Select the Billing Info tab.
3. Update your payment information or re-attempt payment of an outstanding balance.
   

Change your billing cycle (monthly or annual)

1. Go to Account, and then select Plan and billing.
2. Select the Plan and Features tab to change your billing cycle.
   • If you change from a monthly subscription to an annual one, the annual subscription begins when your monthly subscription ends.
   • If you change from an annual subscription to a monthly one, the monthly subscription begins when your annual commitment ends.
     

Upgrade your plan

Ready to do more with Hootsuite? Upgrade your plan! Upgrades take effect immediately. You can upgrade your Professional plan to a Team plan. You can also upgrade your Standard plan to an Advanced plan.

Currently, to change from a legacy plan (Professional, Team, or Business) to a new plan (Standard or Advanced), you will need to delete your existing Hootsuite account and sign up for a new one. When you delete your legacy plan, you'll lose your scheduled messages, Streams, Inbox conversations, and Analytics data. When you start your new plan, you'll need to reconnect your social accounts and recreate your Streams. We are working on providing a more seamless transition.

To change to an Enterprise plan, visit the Enterprise Plan page.

1. Go to Account, and then select Plan and billing.
2. On the Plan and features tab, expand Manage my subscription, and then select Change my plan.

Switch to a plan with fewer features

If you change to a plan with fewer features, your changes take effect at the end of your current paid period. This allows you to continue to benefit from all of your current plan features until the period ends. You can currently switch your Team plan to a Professional plan using these instructions. You must be an organization Super Admin to make these changes.

Currently, to change from a legacy plan (Professional, Team, or Business) to a new plan (Standard or Advanced) or from an Advanced plan to a Standard plan, you will need to delete your existing Hootsuite account and sign up for a new one. To change to or from an Enterprise plan, visit the Enterprise Plan page.

To switch to a plan with fewer features, do the following:

1. Remove excess social accounts - Some plan types restrict the number of social accounts you can manage (for example, you can manage 10 accounts with the Professional plan). If you have more than the maximum allowed number of social accounts for the plan you are switching to, you must remove the extras before you can switch plans. For instructions, see Manage your organization's social accounts or Remove a social account from Hootsuite.
2. Leave your organization or transfer ownership - If you are an owner of an organization and other members of the organization will continue using Hootsuite, you must transfer ownership of the organization. See Transfer ownership of a Hootsuite account for instructions. If you are a member of an organization and are switching to a Professional plan, you must first leave that organization. 3. Go to Account, and then select Plan and billing.
4. Select the Billing tab, and then select Update billing information.
   
5. Expand the Manage my subscription section to change your plan.
   

Cancel your subscription

If you cancel your subscription, your changes take effect at the end of your paid or trial period. This means you can continue to benefit from all of your current plan features until that period ends. If you're a member of a Hootsuite organization, you must be a Super Admin to make these changes.

We'll keep the door open for you here at Hootsuite. Come back at any time to restart your subscription. When you do, we'll restore your account information and data to make it easy to get back up and running.

1. Go to Account, and then select Plan and billing.
2. Expand the Manage my subscription section, and then select Cancel subscription.
   

Delete your Hootsuite account

If you delete your account, you will lose access to Hootsuite, your scheduled content will be permanently deleted, and the email associated with that account cannot be used for a future Hootsuite account. Consider canceling your subscription instead.

Deleting your account takes effect immediately and accounts are not recoverable.

Note: Did you sign up for a subscription on your mobile device? If so, don't forget to cancel your mobile app store subscription on Google Play or Apple App Store at least 24 hours before your next billing date.
