Get started with OwlyGPT

OwlyGPT is Hootsuite's agentic AI solution for social media managers. OwlyGPT is a powerful assistant because it already has context about your brand (based on the social media channels connected to your Hootsuite account), and has access to real-time social listening data, powered by Blue Silk AI.

Use OwlyGPT to jumpstart your social campaigns and get help with tasks like:

• brainstorming content ideas
• researching industry trends
• creating a content schedule
• drafting posts that reflect your brand's voice and tone
• generating images

OwlyGPT bases its answers on your company's brand and industry by default, but you can get content related to another business or industry if you specify them in your prompt.

Start a conversation with OwlyGPT

You can access OwlyGPT from the main Hootsuite home page or from the navigation panel.

Tip: If you want to give OwlyGPT feedback, select thumbs up or thumbs down after OwlyGPT answers your question to let Hootsuite know whether the information was helpful or not.

1. On the Hootsuite homepage, select Start with AI, or go to OwlyGPT in the navigation panel.
2. Enter your question in the OwlyGPT chat window, or select one of the predefined prompts to start your conversation, and then select Send message.

   Tip: Want OwlyGPT to personalize responses using your own unique brand voice? Select the Brand voice, and then select a Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn account from the list. OwlyGPT analyzes the last 30 posts from the previous three months, and integrates the voice and tone of those posts into future recommendations. You can change the social account you want to use at any time.
   
   

3. Optionally, enter another prompt, or select one of the predefined prompts, to refine OwlyGPT's answer.
4. If you want to start a new conversation, select New chat.
   

Draft a social post with OwlyGPT

OwlyGPT is integrated with the Hootsuite composer. If you ask OwlyGPT to create a social post for you, it uses the current context to create a relevant post for the platform you specify.

Select Create a post to copy OwlyGPT's answer to the Hootsuite composer and continue your publishing workflow as usual.

Upload an image to OwlyGPT

Upload an image file to OwlyGPT to get help with image captions, hashtags, and image alt text.

You can only upload one image with every prompt, but you can upload multiple images within the same conversation. OwlyGPT supports image files in JPG and PNG formats. Maximum image size is 30 MB.

You can delete uploaded images by deleting the conversation.

1. Go to OwlyGPT , select Attach image in the conversation window, and then select an image to upload.
2. Enter a prompt for OwlyGPT, and then select Send message.

   OwlyGPT generates an answer, based on its analysis of the image.
   

3. When OwlyGPT generates an answer, you can select any of the following options:
   • Create post - Use OwlyGPT's answer to create a post. Hootsuite copies the answer to Hootsuite composer so you can continue your publishing workflow as usual. You'll need to add your image to the post.
   • Copy - Copy the entirety of OwlyGPT's answer (including recommended posting time and visual suggestions) to your clipboard.
4. (Optional) Select one of the predefined follow-up prompts to refine OwlyGPT's answer.

Generate images with OwlyGPT

Generate and refine images in OwlyGPT to quickly create on-brand visual media for your social posts. You can upload an image and ask OwlyGPT to change it, or ask OwlyGPT to generate a brand new image.

Note: When you turn on image generation, any prompt you enter will generate an image. OwlyGPT will not answer non-image related questions.

1. Go to OwlyGPT , and then select Image generation in the conversation window.
2. Enter a prompt for OwlyGPT that describes the image you want to create.
   If you want OwlyGPT to generate a variation of an existing image, upload the image to OwlyGPT and then enter a prompt to describe the changes you want OwlyGPT to make.
3. Optionally, enter another prompt to refine the generated image.
4. Select Download to download the image to your computer.

View conversation history

OwlyGPT stores all your conversations, so you can easily access and review past queries.

Go to OwlyGPT , and select Expand to display the conversation history. Select any conversation in the list to open it in the OwlyGPT chat window.

If you want to delete a conversation, point to it in the list and then select Delete, and then select Delete chat to confirm your choice.
