Get started with Wisdom

Wisdom (formerly OwlyGPT) is Hootsuite's social-first AI agent. Wisdom is a powerful assistant already has context about your brand (based on the social media channels connected to your Hootsuite account), and has access to real-time social listening data, powered by our proprietary AI models.

This article describes the new Social OS experience. If you haven't switched yet, select the Classic tab for instructions. Learn more about the Social OS experience.

Use Wisdom to jump-start your social campaigns. Use it to brainstorm ideas, research trends, draft on-brand posts, and analyze performance. By default, Wisdom uses your company’s brand and industry context unless you specify otherwise in your prompt.

Start a conversation with Wisdom

Wisdom comes with a collection of ready-to-use prompts to help you get started. Choose a prompt from the Publishing category to generate on-brand content for your social channels, or choose one from the Analytics and Insights category to evaluate your social media performance.

Go to Wisdom .
Enter your prompt in the chat window, or use one of the predefined prompts to start your conversation. You can still modify the prompt if necessary.
Note: If you use a predefined prompt from the Analyze and Insights category, you'll need to select your social accounts before sending your prompt. Learn more about Performance Insights mode.
(Optional) Include a website URL in your prompt to generate responses based on the content of the specified web page.
When you're satisfied with your prompt, select Send message .
(Optional) Enter another prompt, or select one of the predefined prompts, to refine Wisdom's answer.
If you want to start a new conversation, select New chat.

OwlyGPTcomes with a collection of more than 100 ready-to-use prompts to help you get started. The prompts are organized into five categories:

Analyze - for evaluating your social media performance
Create - for generating on-brand content for your social channels
Optimize - for improving your existing content and captions
Plan - for developing content strategies and campaigns
Trends - for uncovering industry shifts, audience sentiment, and competitor benchmarking

You can access OwlyGPT from the main Hootsuite home page or from the navigation panel.

On the Hootsuite homepage, select Start with AI, or go to OwlyGPT in the navigation panel.
Enter your prompt in the OwlyGPT chat window, or use one of the predefined prompts to start your conversation. You can still modify the prompt if necessary.
Tip: Select Shuffle to get another batch of prompts, or select View all prompts to see the entire prompt library, by category
Note: If you use a predefined prompt from the Analyze category, OwlyGPT automatically goes into Performance Insights mode. You will need to select your social profiles before sending your prompt. Learn about Performance Insights mode.
(Optional) Include a website URL in your prompt to have OwlyGPT generate responses based on the content of the specified web page.
When you're satisfied with your prompt, select Send message .
(Optional) Select thumbs up or thumbs down after OwlyGPT answers your question to let Hootsuite know whether the information was helpful or not.
(Optional) Enter another prompt, or select one of the predefined prompts, to refine OwlyGPT's answer.
If you want to start a new conversation, select New chat.

Draft a social post with Wisdom

If you ask Wisdom to create a social post for you, it uses the current context to create a relevant post for the platform you specify.

Select Create to copy Wisdom's answer to the Hootsuite composer and continue your publishing workflow as usual. If you have selected a social account for the Brand voice option, that account is preselected in the composer window.

View conversation history

Wisdomstores all your conversations, so you can easily access and review past queries.

Go to Wisdom , and select Chat history to display the conversation history. Select any conversation in the list to open it in theWisdom chat window.

Go to OwlyGPT , and select Expand to display the conversation history. Select any conversation in the list to open it in the OwlyGPT chat window.

If you want to delete a conversation, point to it in the list, select Delete

, and then select Delete chat to confirm your choice.
