Add Canva designs to your post

You can use the Hootsuite Media library to connect to your Canva account and add your Canva designs to your posts. You can attach multi-page designs, or selected pages from a multi-page design to your post.

This feature is available on the web version of Hootsuite only (not on mobile).

The design type you use for your assets in Canva determines the format you can use when attaching them to your post. Supported formats are as follows:

Documents: PDF
Presentations: JPG, PNG, GIF, MP4, and PDF
Videos: JPG, PNG, GIF, MP4, and PDF
All other design types: JPG, PNG, GIF, MP4, and PDF

The format you use for a multi-page design in Canva determines how it is translated into attached media:

Multi-page designs in GIF and MP4 formats are converted into one combined media attachment when added to a post in Hootsuite.
Multi-page designs in PNG and JPG formats are converted into individual media attachments when added to a post in Hootsuite.

Create a design in Canva

Create images and videos in Canva that grab your audience’s attention. Your posts can contain designs made in Canva, as well as images or video that you’ve uploaded or added from your media library.

The first time you use Canva in Hootsuite, you’ll need to sign up for Canva (for free) or log in to an existing Canva account.

Go to Perch, then select Calendar to start and schedule your post in a calendar view, or select Create a post.
Select Design with Canva to open Canva in the Media library panel.
Select Design with Canva and then choose a template for your Canva design from the list. Templates help set the size and shape of your designs, but you can use most of them for any post. See Template dimensions later in this article.
In the Canva editor, create your design. See Canva’s help center for instructions on designing in Canva. If you already have designs in your Canva account that you want to use, select More and then Folders to find them.
When you’re finished, select Return to Hootsuite to attach the Canva design to your post.
