Assign social account and Inbox 2.0 permissions

Social account permissions let you choose who has access to a social account, and who can manage and publish content to social accounts in your organization. You can use these permissions to control off-brand or accidental communications by assigning specific accounts to teams or members. Social account permissions also determine who has access to Inbox 2.0 features in your organization and who can reply to conversations. Social account permissions are set for each social account that a member has access to.

Not familiar with Hootsuite organizations? See Overview of organizations and permissions.

Each social account permission level can do the following:

Assign social account permissions to your members

You must have one of the following roles to set these permissions:

  • Be an organization Super Admin or Admin
  • Have Team Admin or Unlimited permissions for your team
  • Have Unlimited, Advanced, or the custom permission Manage member social network permissions for the social account

Note: Unlimited and Team Admins inherit Editor social account permissions for their team. Members with the None permission do not have access to the social account.

Expand the instructions for your plan. If you don't know what plan you have, go to Hootsuite, and then select Account - you'll find it below your name.
