Embed a widget in another platform

You can integrate a Topic Insights widget from your Listening project into another platform to share and stay on top of your social listening results outside of Hootsuite.

Listening generates a format-specific URL that you can use to display the widget on social media, on your website, in a Hootsuite stream, and more. The widget URL connects back to the Talkwalker API, so you always have an up-to-date snapshot of the results you want to track or share.

Listening supports the following platforms and formats for embedding most Topic Insights widgets:

• Social media: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest
• File formats: PNG, HTML, JSON, XML, CSV
• Other apps: Tableau, Analytics API, Domo

You cannot embed the Results and Most engaging posts widgets in social media platforms, but you can embed them in an RSS feed or a Hootsuite stream.

Note: If you're embedding a widget as an HTML page, the domain or subdomain on which you're embedding the widget must be added to the Talkwalker allowlist. Please contact Customer Support for help.

Embed a widget in another platform

1. Go to Listening, and then select Topic Insights.
2. Choose a widget, select More, and then select Embed in another platform.
3. Select the platform or file format you want for the widget.
   
   

   Note: You can't change the platform or format for the embedded widget once the URL is generated.

4. Optionally, change the widget name.
5. Select Embed widget.
6. Select the link that Listening generates for the widget and use the URL to embed or share the widget.

Embed a Results widget in a Hootsuite stream

You can embed the Results widget in a Hootsuite stream and get a feed of individual mentions for your topic.

Install the Talkwalker app in Hootsuite

1. Go to More, and then selectApp directory.
2. In the App Directory, locate and select the Talkwalker app, and then select Install.
3. Review the Talkwalker app settings for Streams, and then select Close.
   

Add a Talkwalker stream in Hootsuite

1. Go to More, and then selectStreams.
2. Select Add stream.
3. In the Add a stream panel, select the Apps tab.
4. Select the Talkwalker app from the list.
   
   

Embed the Results widget in a stream

1. Go to Listening, and then select Topic Insights.
2. Select the Results tab.
3. On the Results widget, select More , and then select Embed in another platform.
4. Select Hootsuite stream.
5. Optionally, change the widget name and the sorting preference for results.
6. Select Embed widget.

 

Edit an embedded widget

You can edit an embedded widget to change the data refresh interval, edit the filters applied to results in the widget, and hide or show specific widget elements. You cannot change the format of the widget.

1. Go to Listening, and then select Settings .
2. Select the Embedded Widgets tab, choose an embedded widget from the list, and then select Edit shared object.
3. Make changes to the following widget attributes, as necessary:
   • name and description of the widget
   • expiry - set a date to stop refreshing results or let it never expire
   • refresh interval - select how often you want the results updated from the list
4. Select Edit topics & filters to narrow or broaden the results that are displayed in the widget. After you have made your changes, select Close & apply changes.
5. Select Save to update the embedded widget settings.

Delete an embedded widget

1. Go to Listening, and then select Settings .
2. Select the Embedded Widgets tab, choose an embedded widget from the list, and then select Delete shared object.
3. Select Delete to confirm.
