Changes to multi-advertiser ad settings - Aug 19, 2024

Meta is changing its default settings for multi-advertiser ads.

The multi-advertiser ads feature shows ads from multiple businesses to Facebook or Instagram users so they can discover products and services that are personalized to them. This means that for select placements on Facebook and Instagram, your ads can appear alongside another advertiser’s ads in the same ad unit.

Starting August 19,2024, Meta is updating the settings for multi-advertiser ads to be "opt-in" by default. When you publish Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns directly from Meta Ads Manager, your ads will automatically be included in multi-advertiser ad units unless you opt-out.

However, if you publish Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns through Hootsuite Social Advertising, the multi-advertising ads option will remain set to "opt-out" by default. If you want to enable this feature for your ad campaign, you must change the setting in the Meta Ads Manager.

For more information, see Meta’s About multi-advertiser ads article.
