Create and manage tags

Tags can help you structure and organize your posts and conversations. Tags allow you to visually classify posts and conversations by category, which is useful for keeping track of things like engagement for specific campaigns and for providing other team members context about specific messages or posts. Think of a tag as an internal hashtag that can be attached to posts and messages without being visible to the public.

Plans: Advanced, Business, and Enterprise

This article provides instructions for admins to create and manage tags. If you're looking to apply tags to your posts and messages, see Tag posts and messages.

Create new tags

It's helpful to have someone, or a small group of people, manage your tag library so your tags are kept tidy and up-to-date. All members can tag posts and messages, but only organization Super Admins, Admins, and users with custom Manage Message Tags permissions can create tags and manage the organization’s tag library.

Note: Tags are helpful for you and your team. They aren't visible to your customers in published posts or in messages.

  1. Use the following instructions for your plan type. If you don't know you're plan type, go to Account , you'll see it at the top of that menu.
    • Advanced plan - Go to Account, select Social accounts and teams (BETA), and then select Tags. (You may have to expand the left navigation to see this option.)

    • Business and Enterprise plans - Go to Account, select Social accounts and teams, and then select Tags.

  1. Select a tag from the Active Tag or Archived Tags list.
  2. Select an option to archive or unarchive your tag. To archive or unarchive multiple tags, filter your tag library to show your active or archived tags, select the tags, and action on them.

Permanently delete a tag from the tag library. Deleting a tag will also delete all associated tag data.

  1. Select a tag from the Archived Tags list.
  2. Select Delete.
