Hootsuite product limits and recommendations
Hootsuite comes with certain specifications and requirements. Follow the guidelines and recommendations in this article to get the most out of Hootsuite.
Some limits are based on the kind of plan you have. Learn more about our plan offerings.

Accounts and organizations

| Number of social accounts | If you connect to more than 1,000 social accounts, you might experience decreased performance in certain areas of Hootsuite. |
| Number of social accounts in a single team | If you add more than 50 social accounts per team, you might experience decreased product performance in Hootsuite. |
| Number of members | If you add more than 5,000 members to a Hootsuite organization, you might experience decreased performance in certain areas of Hootsuite. |
| Number of teams | If you add more than 1,000 teams to a Hootsuite organization, you might experience decreased performance in certain areas of Hootsuite. |
Amplify
| Limit or requirement | Description |

| Number of shares per member per day | We recommend a limit of 200 shares per Amplify advocate per day, to prevent decreased product performance and potential identification as spam. |
| Number of images per post | Amplify supports only single-image posts. |
| Number of members | If you add more than 5,000 members to Amplify, you might experience decreased performance in certain areas of Hootsuite. |
| Image and video size and resolution for posts | Each social network has its own requirements for media elements, such as format, file size, and aspect ratios. See Amplify content guidelines and limitations for a table of guidelines. |
Analytics
| Limit or requirement | Description |

| Number of characters in inbound messages | Inbound messages are truncated after 400 characters. |
| Number of characters in outbound posts | Outbound posts can have a maximum of 2,000 characters. |
| Number of breakdowns for export | You can export a maximum of 999 breakdowns. If you exceed this limit, breakdowns display a message of 999 +other. |
| Number of tiles in a report | A report can have a maximum of 100 tiles. When you reach this limit, you'll need to delete a tile to add a new one. |
| Number of filters or campaigns displayed in the Post Performance PDF export | A PDF export can include a maximum of 10 filters or campaigns. If you exceed this limit, exports display a message of 10 +other. |
| Number of sources displayed in PPTX exports | PowerPoint (PPTX) exports can display a maximum of 5 sources. |
| Number of columns in Post Performance tables | Post Performance tables support a maximum of 25 columns. If you exceed this limit, the table will not show values until a column is deleted. |
| Number of posts in a table in a report or in Post Performance | Tables in reports and Post Performance tables support a maximum of 100 posts. |
| Number of posts in a table in CSV/XLSX exports | Metrics tables in CSV and XLSX exports display a maximum of 1,000 Amplify posts, and a maximum of 10,000 posts for all other social media. |
| Number of reports per user | Individual Analytics users can create a maximum of 2,000 reports. If you reach this limit, you'll need to delete a report to create a new one. |
| Report title length | Report titles can have a maximum of 255 characters. |
| Tile title length | Tile titles can have a maximum of 100 characters. |
| Notes in reports length | Notes in reports can have a maximum of 1000 characters. |
| Number of reactions on which Analytics calculates inbound collocations per day | Analytics can calculate inbound collocations on a maximum of 10,000 reactions per day. Collocations are metrics that can be broken down, such as Facebook inbound messages broken down by topic. |
| Number of posts on which Analytics calculates outbound collocations per selected time frame | Analytics can calculate outbound collocations on a maximum of 1,000 posts per selected time frame. Collocations are metrics that can be broken down, such as tweets broken down by topic. |
| Number of Instagram followers required to display Analytics data | Analytics displays data only for Instagram Business accounts with more than 100 followers. This is a limit imposed by Instagram. |
Automation

Compose and publish posts

| Image size and resolution for posts | Each social network has its own image requirements, such as format, file size, and aspect ratios. We recommend using the Image editor in the Composer to fix any size or aspect ratio errors before publishing. |
| Video size and resolution for posts | Each social network has different requirements, such as format, file size, and aspect ratios. For a table of the video requirements that apply in Hootsuite, see Work with videos. Video transcoding automatically adjusts a video’s bitrate, height, and width to meet each network’s requirements. |
| Number of posts to Facebook Pages | If you post to a large number of Facebook Pages at the same time, Hootsuite could time out, scheduled posts could fail, and other errors might occur. We recommend creating teams, in which you group no more than 30 Facebook Pages together. Use the Post and duplicate or Schedule and duplicate options (see Publish a Facebook post) to quickly recreate the post for different teams and groups of Pages. |
| Number of Facebook albums available when composing | When composing a new post, you can access the first 500 albums in a Facebook Page or group. |
| Number of posts to Instagram Business accounts | You can publish a maximum of 25 posts or reels to an Instagram Business account within a rolling 24-hour period using direct publishing. This is a limit imposed by Instagram. |
| Number of characters in posts | Each social network has its own character limits, as follows:

Hootsuite Ads

Impact

| Browse Content: Number of posts in CSV export | You can export up to 500 pieces of content per social network in the Browse Content section, except for Facebook, which allows 2,000 pieces of content. |
| Adobe Analytics attribution | For attribution to function properly from Adobe Analytics to Impact, each post must have referring domain data and a unique tracking parameter. |
| Data queries in Filter Content | If you query more than 1 year of data or multiple social connections in the Filter Content section, data might take from several seconds up to several minutes to load. |
| Number of connections in Impact dashboards | If you have more than 100 connections in an Impact dashboard, you might experience decreased performance. |
| Number of Instagram followers required to display Analytics data | Impact displays data only for Instagram Business accounts with more than 100 followers. This is a requirement imposed by Instagram. |
Inbox
| Limit or requirement | Description |

| Number of conversations stored | Inbox stores conversations for up to 6 weeks, with a limit of 10,000 public conversations and 10,000 private conversations per social media profile. Conversations older than 6 weeks that receive a new message are reopened and appear as new conversations. | Number of tags | If you create more than 1,000 tags, dropdown menus that display tags will load slowly. |

| Number of characters per search query | You can enter a maximum of 100,000 characters in the search field when running a search in Insights. |
| Number of mentions per search per day | Although searches don’t have a hard mention limit, a fixed sample rate is automatically applied to extremely high-volume searches—those in which the 85th percentile for daily volume is more than 5,000 mentions. For example, if the 85th percentile for daily query volume is 10,000, a 50% sampling rate is applied to the entire query: Days with a true volume of 60,000 will have a sample of 30,000, and days with a true volume of 10,000 will have a sample of 5,000. Regardless of the fixed sample rate, we never store more than 100,000 mentions for a single day. |
| Mention storage | Mentions are stored for 30 days for quick searches and 13 months for saved searches. |
| Number of mentions in exports | You can export a maximum of 5,000 mentions per day for your saved searches. |

| Number of scheduled posts displayed in legacy list views | If you have more than 200 scheduled posts, you might need to filter by a specific account to see them all. |
| Limit on historical posts displayed | Planner does not display posts older than 12 months. Drafts older than 12 months still display in Planner. |
Streams

| Number of boards | You can add a maximum of 20 boards to your Hootsuite account. |
| Number of streams | You can add a maximum of 10 streams to each board. |
| Number of scheduled posts displayed | Streams displays up to 100 scheduled posts. This applies to scheduled Facebook posts, tweets, Instagram posts, and LinkedIn posts. |
| Number of posts to Facebook groups displayed | Streams displays up to 100 posts to Facebook groups. |
| Number of tweets and retweets displayed | Streams displays up to 800 of your tweets and retweets. |
| Number of others’ retweets displayed | Streams displays up to 100 of your tweets that were retweeted by others. |
| Number of liked tweets displayed | Streams displays up to 200 of your liked tweets. |
| Number of Twitter profile mentions displayed | Streams displays up to 800 mentions of a Twitter profile in tweets and replies. |
| Number of new Twitter followers displayed | Streams displays one tweet from each new follower, up to 20. |
| Number of Twitter searches displayed | Streams displays up to 100 tweets matching your search query, or 7 days of tweets. |
