Account FAQ

Find answers to frequently asked questions about your Hootsuite plan and account.

How do I check what plan type I have?

To find your current plan type, go to your profile picture . Your plan type is listed under your name.

How does the trial work?

You can explore the benefits of a Hootsuite Professional or Team plan as a one time trial. When you sign up for the trial, every function and feature offered on that plan is available to you for a limited time.

You can only sign up for one trial. However, you can explore both Professional and Team plan types by changing from one plan to the other during the trial period.

Note: The trial period does not restart when you change your plan type.

When the trial period is complete, your Hootsuite account transitions automatically to the plan type you selected on sign-up, and the payment method on your account is charged. Ensure a smooth transition by keeping your payment information up to date. Annual subscriptions require a one-year commitment, and monthly subscriptions are charged one month in advance. Paid (premium) apps are billed on a monthly basis only.

Important: Hootsuite will send you an email notification a few days before your trial period ends. To avoid unwanted charges, delete your account before the trial expires. Hootsuite sends invoices and collects payment at the beginning of a payment cycle for the upcoming month.

Will my plan type change?

Hootsuite will not change your plan type without your consent. Hootsuite will only step in during situations when the Hootsuite Terms of Service have been violated. See Self-serve terms and Enterprise terms. See the following regarding changing your plan type:

  • If you are on a monthly subscription, you can make changes to your plan at any time. You can make one change per billing cycle, including switching to an annual subscription (which would take effect at the end of the monthly billing cycle) or changing your plan type.
  • If you are on an annual subscription, you must complete your one-year commitment before switching to a monthly subscription.
  • If you are a Hootsuite Enterprise plan member, you can make changes to your plan with the assistance of your Hootsuite customer account manager.

When you make any plan or account modifications, Hootsuite sends an email confirming the changes to the email address associated with the account. This includes changes to an organization within Hootsuite.

Hootsuite organization plan changes can only be made by the organization super admin.
