Create a Canva library

Create and save a collection of Canva designs in Hootsuite with our free Canva app. You can even add existing designs to Hootsuite from your Canva account. When you’re ready to create posts, you can attach your Canva designs from your collection in your Canva content source.

Note: This integration requires a Canva account.

Install the Canva app

1. Go to More, and then select App library.
2. Search for the Canva app, select it, and then select Install.
   

Create a new Canva design

1. Go to Plan, and then select Content from the top of the page.
2. Select Canva.
3. Select Design with Canva, and then select a design type. This launches the Canva design editor. Images and video automatically scale to the appropriate dimensions.
4. Select a template, or create one from scratch. Use Canva’s graphics, text, or design elements to create your design.
5. When you’re finished creating, select Save on the top right.
6. Select Log in, enter your Canva account email and password, and then select Log in again.
7. Select Save again on your design. Your design is saved in your Canva content source in Hootsuite.
   

Access existing designs from your Canva account

1. Open a new browser tab and sign in to your Canva account.
2. Go to Plan, and then select Content from the top of the page.
3. Select Canva.
4. Select Design with Canva, and then select a design type.
5. When the Canva editor is open, select Folders, which contains your existing designs.
   
   

   Tip: If you don’t see Folders, it means you aren’t signed in to your Canva account.

6. Select a design to continue working on it in Hootsuite. If it’s already finished, select Save to add it to your Hootsuite content source.

Edit a Canva design

1. Open a new browser tab and sign in to your Canva account.
2. Go to Plan, and then select Content from the top of the page.
3. Select Canva.
4. Select Edit on the design to open it in the Canva editor.
5. Make your edits, and then select Save.

Publish a Canva design in a post

1. Go to Plan, and then select Content from the top of the page.
2. Select Canva.
3. Do one of the following:
4. Select Send to Composer on the design. Hootsuite starts a post with your design attached.
   
5. Select the three dots on the design and then select View. Right-click, and save the image to your desktop. Then, when you create a new post, upload it as a media file.
   

Delete a design

1. Go to Plan, and then select Content from the top of the page.
2. Select Canva.
3. Select the three dots on the design, and then select Delete.
4. Select OK to confirm.
