Optimize your campaign schedule with dayparting

When you create a campaign with Legacy Hootsuite Ads, you can use dayparting to select the days and hours your campaign will be active, so you can target your selected audience more effectively. When you use dayparting, Facebook pauses your campaign outside of the time periods you specify.

Dayparting is useful if you're targeting a specific time zone, for example, because you can pause your campaign while your target audience is sleeping. You can also use dayparting to run a promotion for only a few hours each day.

Note: You schedule your campaign according to your account’s time zone. You cannot change your account's time zone, so plan accordingly.

Set your dayparting schedule

  1. On the Budget & Bidding step (4) page of campaign creation, select Advanced options.

  2. Select the Dayparting calendar to highlight the blocks of time during which you want your campaign to run. The time zone used for your schedule is displayed just above the calendar.

Campaigns appear as active in your campaigns list even during the "inactive hours" of your dayparting schedule. On Facebook, they show as paused during the periods outside your dayparting schedule.

Important: If you pause your campaign manually from Facebook, or from another external platform, dayparting could override that setting and reactivate your campaign.
