Search for topics and more in X streams

You can use Twitter quick search in stream feeds to find trending topics and users. You can also find content by keyword or hashtag. Save your search as a stream to monitor important conversations. For example, you can create streams that “listen” to what people are saying about your brand and competitors.

You must have a connected X (formerly Twitter) account to search X.

Search for keywords or view trending topics

Web Mobile
  1. Go to More, select Streams, and then select Twitter quick search on the left.
  2. Choose your search query:
    • Select a trending topic from the quick search list.
    • Search by keyword or hashtag.
When creating a search stream with multiple keywords or hashtags, remember to use parentheses to group hashtags together and exclude reposts. For example, using (#Hashtag1 OR #Hashtag2 OR #Hashtag3) -RT will return posts containing any of the specified hashtags and exclude retweets.
  3. Optionally, select Save as Stream at the bottom of the search results to save the content as a new stream. The stream displays content based on that keyword (not based on location).
  4. Point to a post in the search results to like, reply, repost, or send a direct message to that X user. Selecting Like allows you to like the post from multiple X accounts.
  5. Select the X at the top to close the search window.
