Set permissions for the Hootsuite mobile app
You can let Hootsuite send you notifications and access your image gallery so you can quickly publish photos to social. Read on to learn more about the permissions that you can allow Hootsuite to access.
Enable Hootsuite app access
Enable Hootsuite app access in your iOS device settings to let Hootsuite send you notifications, and to allow access to your device’s location, photos, and camera.
- Select your iOS device Settings.
- Scroll to find and select the Hootsuite app. You will see a list of features that you can allow Hootsuite to access.
- Select Location and then select While Using the App to be able to geotag (add your location to) posts you publish from Hootsuite.
- Select Photos and then select All Photos to be able to do the following in Hootsuite:
- Access your photo gallery while creating posts.
- Save images from Hootsuite streams to your device.
- Publish photos to Instagram via mobile notification.
- Select Camera to be able to take pictures to use in new posts you’re creating in Hootsuite.
- Select Notifications to Allow Notifications from Hootsuite. Learn about the notification types available.
Enable Hootsuite app access in your device settings to let Hootsuite send notifications to your device and to allow access to your device’s location.
Enable location access
- Select your Android device Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Scroll to find and select Hootsuite. You will see a list of features that you can allow Hootsuite to access.
- Select Permissions.
- Select Location.
- Select Allow only while using the app or Ask every time to be able to geotag (add your location to) posts you send from Hootsuite.
Enable notifications
- Select your Android device Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Scroll to find and select Hootsuite. You will see a list of features that you can allow Hootsuite to access.
- Select Notifications, and make sure Show notifications is toggled on. Learn about the notification types available.
- Select Mobile data, and make sure that Allow background data usage is toggled on.
