About post authors
Team members in Hootsuite organizations often share publishing responsibilities for the same social networks. The author name that appears with a social media post depends on the social network.
This article describes how each social network handles the author name for posts published from Hootsuite.
Note: If a team member is removed from an organization, their name will still show up as the author for any posts they created.
Regardless of the team member publishing to a Facebook Page, the Page name always displays as the author of each post. For a Facebook group, the author displayed is always the name of the user who first added the group to the Hootsuite organization. If you want a different name to appear as the author, reconnect the group to Hootsuite using a different group admin's credentials.
You may notice that, when viewing a Facebook Page post directly in the Facebook app, it says “Published by Hootsuite” or "Published by Hootsuite Ads" below the Page name. This is only visible to Admins of the Page - it isn’t visible to Page visitors.
Posts to Facebook groups say "Hootsuite" below the author's name when viewed in Facebook - this is visible to all group members.
