Set up two-step verification

Hootsuite offers two-step verification to enhance protection of your Hootsuite account. You can choose to use two-step verification every time you sign in to Hootsuite, or use it only when your sign in location changes.

Are you seeing the Verify your account page? Look for the confirmation code sent to your account email to access your account. See About login verification for details.

Set up two-step verification on your Hootsuite account

Two-step verification can only be set up on the web version of Hootsuite, but when it is turned on, it will apply wherever you sign in (both on the web and Hootsuite mobile app).

1. Go to Account, and then select Profile.
2. Select Security.
3. Select Enable two-step verification.
4. If you're using a mobile authenticator app, like Google Authenticator, open it and either scan the QR code or manually enter the secret code into the app. If you're using a desktop authenticator application, open it and enter your secret code (you can copy and paste it into the application).
5. Select whether you want to use two-step verification every time you sign in to Hootsuite or only when you sign in from a different location.
   

If you need to generate a new QR code or secret code, select Revoke access and start the set up process again.

Sign in using two-step verification

1. Go to hootsuite.com/login.
2. Enter your Hootsuite email and password. If two-step verification is set up on your account, you'll be prompted to enter your authentication code.
3. Open your authenticator application, and then enter your 6-digit secret code into the Hootsuite login page.
4. Select Sign in.

Sign in without your secret code

If two-step verification is set up on your Hootsuite account, but you don’t have access to your authenticator application, you can sign in to your Hootsuite account without an authenticator code.

1. Go to hootsuite.com/login.
2. Enter your Hootsuite email and password.
3. Select Skip this step.
4. Select Send to [your account email]. Hootsuite sends a confirmation code by email to your Hootsuite account email. Copy and paste the code into the sign in page, or use the link in the email to confirm the account and sign in to Hootsuite. Not getting the email?

Disable two-step verification

Although not recommended, you can disable two-step verification on your account.

1. Go to Account, and then select Profile.
2. Select Security.
3. Select Reset, and then confirm you want to reset and sign out.
