Publish content from your planning apps

Connect your favorite project management tools to your Hootsuite content calendar so you can streamline your social content planning and publishing process.

Hootsuite supports integration with monday.com, Wrike, Asana, and Airtable, so you can plan your social media content in the tool of your choice, when it's time to post, access your tasks in the Hootsuite content planner and publish your posts with a single click.

Connect your project management apps

Connect your monday.com account

Before you connect your monday.com account, you need to install the Hootsuite app from monday.com's App Marketplace.

In addition, make sure that you're creating your social content tasks on a board that uses monday.com's Social Media Planner template. You can find the template in monday.com's Template center.

Go to monday.com App Marketplace and locate the Hootsuite app..
Select the Hootsuite app and follow the prompts to install it.
Go to Perch, select Calendar, and then select Project management apps.
Select Plan with monday.com, and then select Connect to Monday.
In the app authorization window, review the permissions, and then select Authorize.

Go to Plan , and then select Project management apps .
Select Plan with monday.com, and then select Connect to Monday.
In the app authorization window, review the permissions, and then select Authorize.

Connect your Wrike account

Go to Perch, select Calendar, and then select Project management apps.
Select Wrike, and then select Connect to Wrike.
In the app authorization window, review the permissions, and then select Accept.

Go to Plan , and then select Project management apps .
Select Wrike, and then select Connect to Wrike.
In the app authorization window, review the permissions, and then select Accept.

Connect your Asana account

Before you connect your Asana account to Plan, you need to install the Asana app from the Hootsuite App directory.

Asana tasks and subtasks must have a due date to appear in Hootsuite. You don't need to use a specific template or map specific fields, and tags will carry over to your Hootsuite post without any additional setup.

Go to Account , and then select App directory.
Search for Asana, select the Asana app for Hootsuite Plan, and then select Install.
Go to Perch, select Calendar, and then select Project management apps.
Select Asana, and then select Connect to Asana.
In the app authorization window, review the permissions, and then select Authorize.

Go to More, and then select App directory.
Search for Asana, select the Asana app for Hootsuite Plan, and then select Install.
Go to Plan , and then select Project management apps .
Select Asana, and then select Connect to Asana.
In the app authorization window, review the permissions, and then select Authorize.

Connect your Airtable account

Before you connect your Airtable account to Plan, you need to install the Airtable app from the Hootsuite App directory.

In addition, make sure that you're creating your social content tasks in an Airtable base that uses Airtable's Social Media Calendar template.

Go to Account , and then select App directory.
Search for Airtable, select the Airtable app for Hootsuite Plan, and then select Install.
Go to Perch, select Calendar, and then select Project management apps.
Select Airtable, and then select Connect to Airtable.
In the app authorization window, review the permissions, and then select Authorize.

Go to More, and then select App directory.
Search for Airtable, select the Airtable app for Hootsuite Plan, and then select Install.
Go to Plan , and then select Project management apps .
Select Airtable, and then select Connect to Airtable.
In the app authorization window, review the permissions, and then select Authorize.

Create a post from a project management task

Once you've connected your project management app to the Hootsuite content calendar, you can easily access your tasks and import your social content directly into Hootsuite, including text, links, tags, and attachments.

Tasks with due dates that fall within the date range selected in your content calendar appear automatically in the Project management apps panel. You can also choose to display all tasks, including those without a due date.

If you select a new date in the calendar, Hootsuite automatically updates the task list from your project management tool, based on the selected date.

Note: For monday.com and Airtable, Hootsuite only displays tasks from boards that use the Social Media Planner template and the Social Media Calendar template, respectively.

Go to Perch, select Calendar, and then select Project management apps.
Select the project management app you want to use.
(Optional) Select the Show results without due dates toggle to display all tasks.
Navigate to the task that contains the social post you want to publish or schedule, and then select Create a post.
Hootsuite opens the Create a post window and prepopulates the post with the text, media attachments, tags, and links from the original task. The scheduled date is set to the task due date.
To make sure that tags in your planner app tasks show up in your Hootsuite post, keep the following in mind:
- For monday.com, tags are populated by the Content Category column in the Social Media Planner board.
- For Wrike, you need to prepend your tags with Hootsuite tags: (for example, Hootstuite tags: product will apply a "product" tag to your post).
- For Airtable, you need to add a multi-select column to your Social Media Calendar base and label it Tags.
If your tags are not showing up in your Hootsuite post, a team member with Admin permissions will need to add them to Hootsuite Tag Manager.
Verify the post content, make any necessary changes, and then select Schedule.

Go to Plan, and then select Project management apps .
Select the project management app you want to use.
(Optional) Select the Show results without due dates toggle to display all tasks.
Navigate to the task that contains the social post you want to publish or schedule, and then select Create a post.
Hootsuite opens the Create a post window and prepopulates the post with the text, media attachments, tags, and links from the original task. The scheduled date is set to the task due date.
