Create an alert for topic results

Alerts are email notifications that let you know when your topic results change. Set up an alert on a topic to stay on top of trends, or to monitor a campaign or your brand perception.

This article describes the new Social OS experience. If you haven't switched yet, select the Classic tab for instructions. Learn more about the Social OS experience.

Alerts can act as an effective early warning system. You receive a notification as soon as Lumen detects a change in topic results, based on the criteria that you define.

Note: You can create a maximum of 40 alerts and reports (combined). This limit applies across the entire organization.

Lumen supports different types of alerts so you can take strategic action when your topic results change.

New results - Get an alert whenever Lumen detects a new result, or a specific number of results.
Volume: Get an alert when there is a sudden increase or decrease in online activity around your topic over the previous 30 days (smart spike), or when there is a specific percentage increase in the volume of results in the previous 24 hours.
Engagement trend: Get an alert when engagement falls below, or rises above, a specific threshold, as compared to the engagement over the previous seven days.
Sentiment: Get an alert when there is a sudden increase or decrease in sentiment around your topic over the previous 30 days (smart spike), or when there is a specific percentage increase in sentiment in the previous 24 hours.
Viral results: Get an alert when there is unusually high engagement around your topic. You can set the minimum engagement threshold for the alert, and trigger the alert whenever Lumen detects a new result, or a specific number of results.
