Changes to YouTube data retention - May 28, 2026

To comply with YouTube's API requirements, we're making the following changes to how YouTube data is stored and refreshed in Hootsuite Analytics.

• Historical data: YouTube data older than 2 years will be removed for all accounts on May 28, 2026.
• Data refresh interval: Your YouTube data will be automatically refreshed every 30 days, keeping a rolling 2-year window up to date.

What this means for you

If a YouTube profile is disconnected from Hootsuite for 30 or more days, YouTube requires us to delete all stored data for that profile. If you reconnect the profile, we'll automatically backfill up to two years of data, but follower metrics cannot be restored.

To avoid any disruption to your reporting, we recommend keeping your YouTube profiles connected and active in Hootsuite.
