Your social score is a snapshot of how you're performing on social compared to other businesses. We look at your followers, posting frequency, engagement, clicks, audience activity, and more, to see how you stack up against other top performers. We also give you personalized recommendations to help you improve and strengthen your social media presence. Over time, these recommendations get better as we learn more about you, your industry, and your audience.

Understand your scores and how you are doing

To calculate your score, we add your followers, posting, and engagement scores together to reach a score of 100. Your scores all update daily.

We take into consideration all connected social accounts when we generate your score. We currently measure Instagram business profiles, Facebook Pages, LinkedIn Pages, and Twitter accounts. We plan to expand these based on feedback from customers like you.

A high social score is anywhere between 81 and 100. Having a high score means you’re on track with other top-performing businesses.

A low social score is anywhere between 0 and 40, while an average score is between 41 and 80. Having a low or average score means there’s room for growth. Check out the personalized recommendations to level up on social and increase your score.

Keep tabs on your brand's popularity

Keep track of how many people follow you on social. The Followers score, which is calculated as a percentage, is based on how many new followers all of your social accounts gained over the last 7 days.

This score updates daily and the highest possible score is 50.

Keep your audience engaged

Compare how often and how consistently you post to the fastest growing businesses on social. The Posting score takes into account how many posts you’ve published in the last 7 days, then tracks consistency week after week.

This score updates daily and the highest possible score is 25. For this score, we factor in all posts published to the connected social accounts, even if they weren’t published from Hootsuite (for example, if you published the post from Facebook).

Take a look at how your weekly engagement rate compares with the fastest growing businesses on social. The Engagement score includes the last 7 days of follower count, clicks, and post interactions for your connected accounts, and then divides that number by total impressions.

This score updates daily and the highest possible score is 25. We factor in all posts published to the connected social accounts, even if they weren’t published from Hootsuite (for example, if you publish the post from Facebook).

How often does my score update?

All of the scores update daily. They recalculate with any publishing or engagement activity from the previous day.

Does the score include data from posts not published through Hootsuite?

Yes, we use all posts published to connected accounts to calculate your posting and engagement scores. This includes posts you publish directly on the social network (for example, if you publish the post from Facebook).

We currently measure Instagram business profiles, Facebook Pages, LinkedIn Pages, and Twitter accounts. We plan to expand these based on feedback from customers like you.

Does the score calculate all social networks?

No. Right now the score only measures connected Instagram business profiles, Facebook Pages, LinkedIn Pages, and Twitter accounts.
