Our Hootsuite Pro plan was introduced in October, 2010. For years, we offered just three plans:
- A Free plan, for people who were just starting to manage social, or who wanted to try our product out.
- A Pro plan, for entrepreneurs and small business owners who wanted to grow their social media presence more efficiently.
- An Enterprise plan, which was powerful and flexible to suit the needs of even the biggest companies.
As we continued to evolve as an organization, we realized there was a huge range of businesses who were doing really cool things with social media, but who didn’t quite fit with our Enterprise solution. We also were hearing feedback from our customers that the Pro plan had a number of features and add-ons that were either confusing or not being utilized.
So, in October 2016, we rolled out new plan options for customers: Team and Business plans, and a simplified Pro (now called Professional) plan for new customers. Since then, new customers have had their choice of five plans: Free, Professional, Team, Business, and Enterprise.
I subscribed to Pro before October 2016. What does this mean to me?
When we released our new plans in 2016, we renamed our existing Pro plan to “Legacy Pro", but there were no other changes, impacts to the features included in your plan or the price you paid. Moving forward we will continue to support our customers that chose to remain on this plan.
Over the last few years, we’ve added tons of value to our product, including new social network integrations like Instagram and Pinterest, and the inclusion of paid social with Boost.
Most recently, we released Inbox, a new feature which brings inbound private messages (including support for Twitter Direct Messages) across multiple profiles into a single social inbox -- all within Hootsuite. While we continue to support customers that wish to remain on their existing Hootsuite Pro plan, this feature will only be available to Professional, Team, Business and Enterprise plans in early 2019. We are committed to investing in Inbox, improving our offering, and adding new features and message types.
We have and will continue to invest in Hootsuite and evolve our plans. We believe that our current pricing more accurately reflects the value that Hootsuite provides.
