Perform a Quick Search

Create a Quick Search in Listening Basics or Listening (powered by Talkwalker) to find out in real-time how an idea, a campaign, a brand, or even just a word is resonating with online audiences.

Your search term can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it. You can enter your own search query or select a search term from the list trending hashtags, brands or events. You can also select a specific location for your search query (Listening returns results from all locations by default). Listening displays a dynamic list of available operators as you type, and validates the syntax of your query as you go, so you can quickly identify and correct any errors.

Tip: Use Talkwalker's AI Query Builder to create detailed and accurate search queries quickly — no technical expertise required. AI Query Builder is an intuitive, AI-powered interface that does all the hard work for you, so you can access actionable insights faster.

Run a Quick Search

Use a combination of text and Boolean operators (up to 1000 characters) to get results for your search. See About search query syntax for a list of supported Boolean operators.

  1. Go to Listening, enter your search term in the Quick Search field, and then press ENTER.

You can also select a search term from any of the Top hashtags, Top brands, or Top events lists, and select a specific region from the Trend locations list.

Tip: You can also use the AI Query Builder to start your search. The Quick Search field in Listening, with the AI Query Builder icon highlighted.

In the AI Query Builder window, enter a brand name or broad topic, add specific keywords to refine your search, and then select Generate.

  2. Review your search results to see engagement, overall sentiment, and top words and themes associated with your search term.

Note: The results widgets available to you depend on which Listening plan you have (that is, Listening Basics or Listening (powered by Talkwalker)). See About result widgets in Listening for details on the information contained in each widget.

  3. Optionally, select a different timeframe for your search results. You can select one of the preset timeframe options, or use the calendar button to select a specific date range.
  4. Optionally, select Filters to apply filters to your search results and narrow down results of interest. You can filter by sentiment, media types, countries, or languages. See Filter and customize your search results for more information.
  5. Optionally, select Refresh results to make sure your search results are up to date.
  6. If you want to refine your search results, select the search bar and enter your revised search term, then press ENTER.

If you used the AI Query Builder to create your search, you can point to the search name to get the details of the query syntax, and make any necessary changes. You can change or add more specific keywords or exclude certain terms or data types from your search to refine your results.

Edit a quick search

You can give your quick search a new label, assign a different color to the label, or make changes to your search term.

  1. On the Quick Search results page, select More in the search query field, then select Edit.
