Leave or delete an organization

  

A super admin that creates an organization and who is the paying member of the account cannot leave the organization, and is the only organization member who can delete that organization. For detailed information on organizations and teams, see the following:

Any non-paying members of an organization can choose to leave the organization at any time. Those with admin or super admin permissions will need to have those permissions revoked before they can leave. Another admin/super admin can remove the permissions. What if a paying super admin leaves the company?

If a paying super admin leaves the company, another member must take ownership of the organization by updating the email address and billing information for the account. This member will assume paying member status and free up their team member seat. For information, see Transfer Hootsuite account ownership.

You can also recreate an organization in another paid Hootsuite account and transfer any social accounts to that organization. It is not possible to transfer an organization between Hootsuite accounts. For more information, see the following:

Leave an organization

If you leave an organization, you will lose access to its social accounts, assets, and any features not included in your own account's plan type.

  1. Go to My profile , and then select Social networks and teams.
  2. Select Settings settings next to the organization, and then select Leave organization.

Delete an organization

Deleting an organization permanently deletes all of its content. This includes teams, social accounts, scheduled content, tags, and vanity URLs. Deleted organizations cannot be retrieved.

  1. Go to My profile , and then select Social networks and teams.
  2. Select Settings settings next to the organization, and then select Delete Organization.
