Manage Insights users

Users can belong to one view at a time, and are only able to see the streams and post to the accounts in their assigned view. Only Admins can access multiple views.

To invite a new user

  1. Hover your mouse over the side navigation menu, and then click Settings settings at the bottom of the menu.
  2. Select Users & Views from the list on the left.
  3. Click Invite User(s) in the top-right corner of the dashboard.
  4. Select the view they will have access to from the drop-down list, enter their email address, select their permission level, and then click Send Invitations.

Invited users will receive an email invitation. They must click the registration link in the email to set up their own account, and sign in to Insights. If they don’t receive the email, they should check their junk or spam folders. Admins can also hover over the user’s name to copy the invitation URL and send it to the user directly.

To change a user’s permission level or view

  1. Hover your mouse over the side navigation menu, and then click Settings settings at the bottom of the menu.
  2. Select Users & Views from the list on the left.
  3. Select a view from the list. The users in that view will populate on the right.
  4. Hover your mouse over the user, and then click Edit.
  5. Select a new permission level, or move the user to another view.
  6. Click Save Changes.

To delete a user

Before deleting a user, ensure their social networks have been deleted as well, because only the user who added a social network can remove it.

  1. Hover your mouse over the side navigation menu, and then click Settings settings at the bottom of the menu.
  2. Select Users & Views from the list on the left.
  3. Locate the user in the All Users list, or within a view.
  4. Hover your mouse over the user, and then click Delete.
  5. Click Yes, delete.

Insights permission levels

Observer - Observers can view the streams in their assigned view, create tasks, build reports, and tag mentions.

Contributor - Contributors have all the permissions of an Observer, plus can connect and post to social accounts as well as add, edit, and delete their own streams.

Supervisor - Supervisors have all the above permissions, plus can manage the view they’ve been assigned. They can invite new users to their view and assign up to Supervisor permissions. Supervisors cannot change their own permission level.

Admin - Admins can do anything in the product, including add other admins, switch between views, change other users’ views, and change other users’ permission levels.
