Add or remove someone from your Twitter list

Twitter lists let you group Twitter users together to focus conversations you are monitoring. If you have an existing Twitter list and you have created a Twitter list stream, you can remove users from that list or add new users. Twitter users do not need to be following you to be added to your lists. See Add a Twitter stream.

Tip: Lists are often sorted by company, industry, or geographical location.

Important: To add users to Twitter lists, you must have existing Twitter list streams.

Add someone to your Twitter list

You can add a user to your Twitter list by selecting the user from one of your Twitter streams or by searching for a user in an existing Twitter stream.

Add someone using their user profile

  1. Go to Streams , and then locate the Twitter user you would like to add to an existing Twitter list.
  2. Select the user name or avatar to open the user's profile page.
  3. Select More , and then select Add To List.
  4. Select an existing Twitter list, and then select Save.
  5. At the top of your Twitter list stream, select to filter by Search or Followers:
    • To filter by search, enter a keyword.
    • To filter by follower count, move the slider to display the profiles that have at least that number of followers.

Add someone using your Twitter list stream preferences

  1. Go to Streams , and then go to your Twitter list stream.
  2. Select More options  at the top of the search stream, and then select Preferences.

  1. Go to Streams , and then go to your Twitter list stream.
  2. Select More options  at the top of the search stream, and then select Preferences.
  3. Under Remove users, select Delete  next to the user's name, select OK, and then select Done.
