Hootsuite Business and Enterprise users can add tags to inbound messages in their streams, and then analyze them by type within Hootsuite Analytics. Note that in Analytics, only data for public posts is retrieved. Unpublished, or dark posts, are not supported.
Outbound messages can also be tagged from the compose message box.
Those with super admin, admin or custom permissions to ‘Manage Message Tags’ can add tags to messages in streams. Manage tags in the tag library.
To tag an inbound message
- Select Streams from the launch menu.
- Locate the inbound message in your stream, click more below the message, and then click Add Tag.
- Select an organization from the drop-down list, click Enter a Tag to select an existing tag, or enter a new tag and then click Create tag "tag name".
- Click Save.
Tags applied to inbound messages will display in-stream on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn posts.
