Search in Twitter streams

  

You can use Twitter quick search in Streams to search for Twitter content by keyword and narrow a search to within a 25-kilometer radius of your location. You must have a connected Twitter account to use quick search.

Search for keywords or view trending topics

You can search for keywords in Twitter streams and view trending topics.

  1. Go to Streams , and then select Twitter quick search on the left.
     
  2. Choose your search query:
    • Select a trending topic from the quick search list.
    • Enter a keyword, and then select Enter on the keyboard to search by keyword.
  3. Optionally, select Save as Stream at the bottom of the search results to save the content as a new stream. The stream displays content based on that keyword (not based on location).
  4. Point to a tweet in the search results to like, reply, retweet, or send a direct message to that Twitter account holder. Selecting Like allows you to like the tweet from multiple Twitter accounts.
  5. Select the X at the top to close the search window.

Find search results near your location

When searching, select Use your location to find local search results  to narrow your results to within a 25-kilometer radius of your location. You must enable location detection in your browser to use this feature.

Search for Twitter accounts

  1. Go to Streams , and then select Twitter quick search on the left.
     
  2. Select the Twitter icon, and then select Find Twitter Users.
  3. Enter the user name or Twitter account name, and then select Enter on the keyboard.
  4. Select the name or profile picture to open the user's profile page, or select the Follow button to follow the user.
  5. Select the X at the top to close the search window.
