Manage tasks in Assignments

Keep your team tasks and assignments organized and up-to-date so you don't miss anything. Once you’ve assigned posts or comments, they appear in Assignments . You can view and respond to assigned posts, reassign or resolve assignments, and send message assignments to third-party tools such as Salesforce and Marketo.

Plans: Team, Business, Enterprise.
Enterprise users can use Hootsuite’s automation tool to automatically assign posts with keyword-based rules (see Automate assignments and tags).

The steps in this article apply to the following:

  • Tweets
  • Facebook posts, comments, and private messages
  • App assignments

Reassign tasks

Tip: You can reassign messages to different teams or team members, either individually or in bulk.

  1. Go to Assignments .
  2. Select an assignment from the list.
  3. Select the arrow next to Resolve, and then select Assign to or Assign to me.

  4. Enter an assignee and a contextual note (optional), and then select Assign.

Reassign tasks in bulk

You can select all or multiple assignments to reassign at the same time.

  1. In Assignments , select the check box at the top of the list to select all assignments under the current filter. Or, point to the avatar in individual assignments and select the check box that appears.

  2. Select Assign to.

  3. Enter an assignee and a contextual note (optional), and then select Assign.

Resolve tasks

When messages no longer need attention from your team, resolve them to remove them from the assignments list.

  1. Select an assignment from the list.
  2. Select Resolve.
  3. Enter a resolution note (optional), and then select Resolve.

  1. Select the check box at the top of the list to select all assignments under the current filter. Or, point to the avatar in individual assignments and select the check box that appears.
  2. Select Mark as resolved.

  3. Enter a resolution note (optional), and then select Resolve.

Send tasks to installed apps

In Assignments, you can send message assignments to third-party tools (such as Salesforce and Marketo) for further collaboration with team members.

You must install third-party apps to Hootsuite before you can use them in Assignments. To learn more, see Install or uninstall apps.

Send a task to an app

  1. Select an assignment from the list.
  2. Select More in the assignment’s detail.
  3. Select one of your installed apps from the list.
