Report on campaign performance

Associate posts with campaigns to track the performance of your campaigns on social. Associating posts with campaigns populates attributes (for example, predefined tags) for each post. You can then create and filter Analytics reports or specific metrics by tag and campaign. Learn how to manage tags.

Note that you can only filter post level metrics by tag or campaign. Post level metrics begin with 'Post' in their name, like 'Post likes' or 'Posts table.

Create a campaign performance report

  1. Go to Analytics , and then select New report.
  2. Select Custom report, and then select Create report.
  3. Select a metric library at the top. Depending on your plan, you can select from a number of metric libraries.

  4. Select a social network to view a list of metrics that you can track in your report. Browse for a metric or use the search bar to search for specific metrics. Find out more about Hootsuite Analytics metrics and what they measure.
  5. Select Add. You can choose additional metrics or close the window.

Filter results by tag and campaign

You can filter your report or specific metric tiles by tag and campaign. Depending on your plan, you can also filter by post type, media type, ad campaign, and more.

Filter a report by tag and campaign

  1. In your report, select Manage filters. We’ll show different social network options based on what metrics you're tracking in your report.
  2. Select one or more tags from the list for each social network, and then select Apply.
  3. Select one or more campaigns from the list, and then select Apply.
  4. When you’re done, close the Configure tile window.

Select Expand to view the active filters applied to your report.

Filter a metric tile by tag and campaign

  1. In your report, point to a tile, and then select Configure tile.

  2. Select Data, select one or more tags and campaigns from each list, and then select Apply.

  3. When you’re done, close the Configure tile window.

Notes:

  • Filters applied to a report override those applied to a metric tile.
  • Filtering Twitter Post replies and Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn Post comments by tag and campaign displays the number of replies and comments on the posts associated with that tag or campaign.

Metrics on posts published in the last 31 days will continue to update as you work. If you’re a long-time customer, you can find Post metrics data for dates as early as January 1, 2018.
