Tag Facebook branded content (Legacy)

This content is set to retire. See Tag someone when an ad contains branded contentfor the current process.

Verified Facebook Pages (with the blue verification badge) that explicitly, or implicitly, feature a third-party product, brand or sponsor in their posts must comply with Facebook’s branded content policy. This includes tagging the third-party with the branded content tool in the legacy composer.

The other brand will receive a Facebook notification of the mention in your post. They can also share the post to their own Page, track its engagement in Facebook insights, and promote the post in Facebook.

Branded content is not supported in the new composer, on mobile or in the bulk composer at this time.

  1. Select the verified Facebook Page (with a blue verified badge) that will publish the post from the Social Profile Picker (top-left).
  2. Select Compose message, and then enter a message.
  3. Select Branded content and then enter the name of the brand or product’s Facebook Page.
  4. Select the Page from the list that populates.

The published Facebook post will show your Page name, “–with the tagged brand name,” above the post.

Branded Facebook posts sent to other social networks at the same time will be posted to those social networks without the branded content tag.

Select Removex to the right of the tag to remove the branded content tag from the post.

Tip: Save posts with branded content in your drafts or in a content library (Enterprise).

Important: Only Pages with blue verified badges are required to comply with the branded content policy. Therefore the branded content tagging tool does not work for Pages with gray verified badges.
