Add or remove someone from your X list
X (formerly Twitter) lists let you group X users together, such as by company, industry, or geographical location, to focus on conversations you want to monitor. You can manage X lists from within a desktop X list stream in Hootsuite. X users don’t need to be following you for you to add them to your lists. See Create an X feed.
Important: To add users to X lists, you must already have existing X list stream feeds.
Add someone to your X list
You can add a user to your X list by selecting the user from one of your X streams or by searching for a user in an existing X stream.
Add someone using their user profile
- Go to More, select Streams, and then open a stream that contains a post by the X user you would like to add to an existing X list.
- Select the user name or avatar to open the user's profile page.
- Select More , and then select Add To List.
- Select an existing X list, and then select Save.
- At the top of your X list stream, select to filter by Search or Followers:
- To filter by search, enter a keyword.
- To filter by follower count, move the slider to display the profiles that have at least that number of followers.
You can search for the user by selecting Filter by at the top of an X stream.
Add someone using your X list stream preferences
- Go to Streams, and then go to your X list stream.
- Select More options at the top of the search stream, and then select Preferences.
- Enter an X user name (@ is not required), select Add, and then select Done.
Remove someone from your X list
You can remove users from your X list. When you remove someone from a X list, the user is not removed from your X account. If you want to stop seeing posts from that person, you need to unfollow them.
- Go to Streams, and then go to your X list stream.
- Select More options at the top of the search stream, and then select Preferences.
- Under Remove users, select Delete next to the user's name, select OK, and then select Done.
