Create Amplify content for advocates to share
You can create original content in the Hootsuite Composer, pull content from social streams you follow, or use the Hootsuite Syndicator app plugin in your social streams to share discovered content. Additionally, any content that your advocate users suggest appears in the Drafts queue in your Amplify stream for you to review.
Audience: Admins
Create original content
You create and publish Amplify content with Hootsuite by selecting Create to open the Composer. While you compose your message, the preview on the right shows you how your message will look when it's published.
Tip: For detailed instructions on creating new content using the Composer, see Create and publish posts and select a link to read step-by-step instructions for the social network you're publishing to.
When you're ready to share content to Amplify, use the following steps to publish or schedule your content from the Composer, or save it as a draft.
Video: Watch Engaging with influencers and advocates.
Visit Hootsuite Academy to watch more videos, take courses, or earn industry-recognized certifications.

Save content as a draft to publish or schedule later
- In the Composer, select the arrow next to Post now, and then select Send to Amplify.
- Under Publish to Amplify, select the options you want.
- Select the arrow next to Publish now, and then select Save to Amplify drafts.
Your content moves to the Drafts queue of your Amplify stream, where you can revise, schedule, or publish it. For information on publishing drafts from your Amplify stream, see Publish Amplify content from Drafts or the content library.
Apply UTM parameters
Track the success of links in your Amplify content by adding UTM parameters to all links sent from Amplify, or to links from specific domains. For instructions, see Apply link settings.
Keep in mind that while the general setup is the same, you’ll need to change a few things in Amplify:
Make sure the link settings are applied in Amplify.
To use a vanity URL, it must be set as Amplify organization and applied as default.
Translating a member ID is done with a custom app due to its complexity and carries an extra fee. We instead recommend using the Dynamic Social Profile value in the Amplify Organization Link Settings.
Share content from streams
Plans: Enterprise
To pull content from social streams you follow in Hootsuite, simply send them to Amplify directly from Streams. If you haven't used Streams in Hootsuite, follow these steps to get started.
- Add a social account to Hootsuite.
- Add streams.
- When you find a post you want to share to Amplify, select More Actions
below post, and then select Send to Amplify.
The post appears at the top of the Drafts queue in your Amplify stream. Drafts haven’t been published to the mobile app yet. Content can still be edited or deleted from this queue, as well as finalized and published.
See Use boards to organize your streams for more details on organizing your dashboard tabs and streams.
