Add and manage streams - iOS

Streams display content feeds from your connected social accounts. With streams you can monitor the activity in your networks and engage in conversations on social. Add social accounts to your app first, and then add streams for each one.

Organize streams under tabs, much like tabs on filing folders. Each Hootsuite account can add up to 20 tabs, and each tab holds 10 streams. To learn more, see Organize your streams in tabs - iOS.

If you already have tabs and streams set up in the desktop dashboard, these will be reflected in your app. Changes made in either the app or desktop dashboard will sync with the other.

Add a stream

1. Select Streams.
2. Select Edit in the top right.
3. Select Add Stream at the bottom of the tab you want to add it to.
4. Select a social network at the top. Twitter is shown by default.
5. Select the profile that will own the stream.
6. Select a stream type, and then select Save in the top right.
   
7. When you're finished adding streams, select Done in the top right.

Add a Twitter keyword or search stream

1. Select Streams.
2. Select Edit in the top right.
3. Select Add Stream at the bottom of the tab you want to add it to.
4. Select the Keyword or Search tab at the bottom of the screen.
   
5. Enter keyword(s) or search terms and then select Search.
6. Select Save in the top right.
7. Select a Twitter account that will own the search stream.
8. When you're finished adding streams, select Done in the top right.

Rename a Twitter search stream

Any Twitter search stream, with this icon , can be renamed.

1. Select Streams.
2. Select Edit in the top right.
3. Select the search stream.
4. Enter a new name, and then select Save.

Add a Twitter list stream (for an existing list)

Add list streams for existing lists in the mobile app. New lists must be created in the web dashboard before you can add streams for them. See Create a Twitter lists stream.

1. Select Streams.
2. Select Edit in the top right.
3. Select Add Stream at the bottom of the tab you want to add it to.
4. Select the List tab in the bottom right.
5. Select a Twitter account.
6. Select a Twitter list.
7. Select Save in the top right.
8. When you're finished adding streams, select Done in the top right.

Rearrange streams

1. Select Streams.
2. Select Edit in the top right.
3. Press and hold Move, drag the stream to a new location, and then release.
4. Select Done in the top right.

Delete a stream

1. Select Streams.
2. Select Edit in the top right.
3. Select Delete beside the stream.
4. Select Delete again to confirm.
5. When you're finished editing streams, select Done in the top right.
