Filter and analyze your saved searches
Every saved search in Insights generates a standard set of metrics, so you can see at a glance how your search results are performing. Use filters to display and analyze the metrics most important to you and discover trends and insights into the people discussing your specific search terms and topics online.
Metrics automatically update according to the selected time frame and any filters you apply to your search results.
- Go to Insights, and then select Saved Searches to view the list of searches saved by your organization.
- Select a saved search.
- Select Filters to open and apply different filters to your search results. You can filter results by keyword, platform, sentiment, emotion, and gender. You can also select to include or exclude specific authors, tags, languages, and locations. The results update in real-time after the filters are applied.
- Optionally, you can select the date picker to display mentions and metrics from a specific time frame.
Note: You must re-apply filters each time you open a saved search.
Analyze your saved searches
Metrics for your saved searches are displayed in tiles. See Metrics in Insights for a complete list of metrics and their descriptions.
Select Mentions to display more information about each mention, such as author, platform, date, emotion, sentiment, location, and language.
You can also open mentions in the associated platforms, edit annotations on each mention (such as sentiment, emotion, and location), add tags, and download all mentions.
- Select the timestamp link on a mention to open it in the associated platform and engage with it.
- Point to an annotation and select an emotion from the list to classify that mention.
Changes are reflected in your metrics, and are retained permanently when the search is closed, so you can optimize results without editing the search query.
- Select Add tag to categorize mentions, highlight important mentions, or flag mentions you want to take action on. See Use tags to manage and organize your mentions.
- Select Export, and then select to download it as a CSV or JSON file. Your file includes up to 5000 mentions based on the filters applied to your saved search.
Iris™ is an AI analyst that automatically detects significant peaks in conversations and reveals what may be causing a significant jump in popularity for a saved search. This can be a particular tweet that gained a lot of attention or a news article that was shared repeatedly.
Select a peak marker in the Mention Volume Over Time, Sentiment Volume Over Time, or Emotion Volume Over Time tiles to display all potential reasons for the peak.
Select Word Cloud to view the most frequently used terms and phrases within the mentions for your search query. The bigger the word, the more popular it is. Select a word or phrase to see all the mentions that contain it.
Point to the tile, and then select the gear icon to customize it. You can select to view emojis, hashtags, locations, organizations, people, keywords, and phrases. You can also change the word size, color, and cloud size.
Select Topic Wheel to view a chart that shows the most popular topics in the inner circle and associated subtopics in the outer circle.
Note: The word cloud and topic wheel charts return different results. The word cloud displays the most commonly used words and phrases and the topic wheel displays trending topics and associated subtopics based on your search term.
