Connect an organic or paid social account to Impact

  

Connect your organic and paid social accounts to Impact to get a complete view of your social performance. You can connect the following social networks and ad accounts to Impact:

Organic Paid
Facebook Pages Facebook ad accounts
Instagram Business accounts Instagram ad accounts
Twitter profiles Twitter ad accounts
LinkedIn Pages (Company and Showcase) LinkedIn ad accounts
YouTube channels  
Pinterest business accounts  

Note: Before you begin, make sure you’ve added your social accounts to Hootsuite. To learn more, see Add a social account to Hootsuite.

Notes on connecting social accounts to Impact

Facebook Pages

  • You must have Facebook Admin or Editor permissions for a Page to connect it to Impact. To learn more about Facebook Page permissions, see How do I manage roles for my Facebook Page?
  • You must have Facebook Business Manager access to be able to connect an ad account to Impact.

Instagram Business accounts

Instagram ad accounts

  • Make sure you connect your Instagram ad account to Impact to view your ads and dark posts in Impact (instructions follow).

Twitter ad accounts

  • You must have Account Administrator or Ads Manager permissions for a Twitter ad account to connect it to Impact. See Access levels and permissions to learn more.

Connect an organic or paid social account to Impact

  1. Sign out of your social account.
  2. In Hootsuite, go to My other products my-other-products-icon.png, and then select Go to Impact. Impact opens in a new tab.
  3. Select from the following:
    1. If you are setting up your first Impact dashboard, select Add Connections, and then select Add New Connection.
    2. If you already have another Impact dashboard set up, select Connections, and then select Add New Connection.
  4. Select the organic or paid social account you'd like to connect to Impact, and then select Authorize+Connect.
  5. Enter your credentials for that connection.
  6. Follow the prompts to authorize the connection with Impact.
  7. Facebook Pages, Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, YouTube channels: Select the ad account and the associated page you want to add to Impact from the drop-down, and then select Add.
  8. After adding a connection to Impact, the connection requires account configuration. Please reach out to your customer success associate/manager to start the process.

Once you connect your social accounts, Impact retrieves 30 days of historical data (except for Instagram stories). Impact then begins to store your data for the duration of your Impact subscription.
