Manage tasks in Assignments

  

After you’ve assigned posts or comments to yourself or team members from Streams, they appear in a consolidated view in Assignments , where your team can collaborate on them. In addition to responding to assigned posts, you can manage assignments by reassigning or resolving them. You can also send message assignments to third-party tools that your organization uses for further collaboration with team members.

*Enterprise users can use Hootsuite’s automation tool to automatically assign posts with keyword-based rules.)

The steps in this article apply to the following:

  • Tweets
  • Facebook posts, comments, and private messages
  • App assignments

Reassign assignments

You can reassign messages to different teams or team members, either individually or in bulk.

  1. Select an assignment in the list.
  2. Select the drop-down arrow above the detail view.
  3. Select Assign to me or Assign to, enter an assignee and a contextual note for them, and then select Assign.

Reassign assignments in bulk

  1. Select the check box at the top of your assignment list to select all assignments under the current filter. Or, hover over the avatar on the left of each assignment and select the box to choose assignments individually.
  2. After selecting multiple assignments, select Assign to in the top right.
  3. Enter an assignee and a contextual note for them, and then select Assign.

Resolve assignments

When messages no longer need attention from your team, you can resolve them to remove them from the assignments list.

  1. Select an assignment in the list.
  2. Select Resolve above the detail view.
  3. Enter a resolution note (optional), and then select Resolve.

Resolve assignments in bulk

  1. Select the check box at the top of your assignment list to select all assignments under the current filter. Or, hover over the avatar on the left of each assignment and select the box to choose assignments individually.
  2. After selecting multiple assignments, select Mark as resolved in the top right.
  3. Enter a resolution note to apply to all assignments, and then select Resolve.

Send message assignments to installed apps

In Assignments, you can send message assignments to third-party tools (such as Salesforce and Marketo), for further collaboration with team members.

Apps need to be installed as plugins to your Hootsuite dashboard before they can be used in Assignments. To learn more, see Install or uninstall apps from your dashboard.

Send an assignment to an app

  1. Select an assignment from the list.
  2. Select more  above the assignment’s detail view. Apps that you’ve installed as plugins (as opposed to streams) appear here.
  3. Select the app from the list.
