Microsoft Teams users can embed Hootsuite streams directly into a team channel by adding a tab. Once a team owner has added and configured a Hootsuite tab in a channel, other team members can sign in and view the same Hootsuite stream. Team members can then have a chat conversation while co-browsing a stream inside a tab.
How to add a tab in Microsoft Teams
Setting up Hootsuite
To use Hootsuite with Microsoft Teams, all team members will need a Hootsuite account. The team owner will be the Hootsuite admin and needs to create a Hootsuite organization. Once the admin adds team members, social networks, and streams to the organization, team members will have access to view the same streams.

Troubleshooting your Teams integration
- I don't have a Hootsuite account
To use Hootsuite with Microsoft Teams, you will need a Hootsuite account. Sign up for one here - I'm not part of an organization
Hootsuite organizations allow admins to share social networks with team members. If you do not have one yet, create an organization and team.
If an organization has already been created, contact your organization admin to add you to a team. - My team doesn’t have access to the social network
Admins can add social networks to a team to collaborate with teammates.
If you do not have admin permissions in your organization, contact your admin to add a social network to the team. - I don’t have any streams
Hootsuite displays a stream of your choice in the Microsoft Teams tab from the social networks your organization owns. If you do not have any yet, create a stream in your Hootsuite dashboard. - I don’t see the stream in the Teams tab
The stream for your tab may not be available to you if the tab creator hasn’t followed all of the steps above, or if you haven’t added the stream to your own Hootsuite dashboard yet.
Contact your Hootsuite organization admin and have them verify again that you are part of the org, a team has been created, and that the social network has been added to the team. - Need more help?
