Reconnect Social Networks

Social networks connect to Hootsuite through application programming interfaces (APIs). These connections allow you to access and complete actions for social networks using your Hootsuite dashboard.

There are many reasons accounts disconnect, and can be as simple as software updates or password changes. When this happens, a manual reconnection can be made from the User Profile section of your Hootsuite dashboard, and is often indicated by an exclamation mark in a red box.

Exclamation notifications can take up to 48 hours to display. Losing the ability to post to a particular account or refresh the stream is an indication the social network in question requires reconnecting.

To reconnect a personal social network

  1. Select your profile picture/logo from the upper-left corner of the launch menu.
  2. Double-click the social profile with an exclamation mark (or the one without an exclamation mark that has been problematic).
  3. Click the Connect with (social network) button.
  4. Enter your social network credentials, and complete any additional prompts to authorize the reconnection.

Alternatively, click Cancel or Deny to stop this process.

To reconnect your organization's social network
