Hootsuite offers two ways for you to manage social networks: My Social Networks (for personal use) and Organization Social Networks (for company use). Both ways enable use of any of the following social accounts:

  • Twitter profiles
  • Google+ Pages
  • Foursquare profiles
  • Facebook profiles
  • LinkedIn profiles
  • WordPress.com blogs
  • Facebook Pages
  • LinkedIn groups
  • mixi profiles
  • Facebook groups
  • LinkedIn Company Pages

tip_icon_41_47.png Hootsuite apps, such as Instagram, Hootsuite Campaigns and WordPress.org can be connected from the App Directory section.

Personal social networks are listed in the lower-portion of your user profile page, and organization social networks are listed in the corresponding organization menu box.

While personal and organization social networks can be added from alternate sections (Streams and Add a Stream Helper), they can only be removed through the User Profile section.

 Remove Social Networks

All social networks are removed through the User Profile section. This is a two-part process:

At least one of the following permissions are needed to remove a social network connected to an organization:

  • Super admin or admin at the organization level.
  • Admin at the team level.
  • Advanced at the social network level.

This process will only remove the social network from your dashboard, not delete the social network account. It will also remove any relative scheduled content. For example, if you have a message scheduled to your Twitter and Facebook account but remove your Facebook account, the scheduled message will only post to your Twitter account.

  1. Select your profile picture/logo from the upper-left corner of the launch menu.
  2. Hover your mouse over the social network to remove (on the lower portion of the page), click the gear icon, and then select Remove from Hootsuite.

  3. Click to select the social network below “Social Networks” on the left-aligned navigation menu.
  4. Click the gear button in the upper-right corner, and then select Delete Social Network.
  5. Click OK.

Alternatively, click Cancel to stop this process.
