Cancel Your Hootsuite Account

Note: Enterprise users must contact their Hootsuite account manager to close their Hootsuite account.


Cancelling a Hootsuite account requires (when applicable):

  1. Deleting a Hootsuite Organization created in your dashboard;
  2. And a $0 account balance.

Updating your billing information will settle an overdue balance, allowing you to make account changes. Should you have an annually billed Hootsuite Pro plan, it is important to note that it is a one-year commitment. While cancellation requests can be submitted, the plan cannot be downgraded or cancelled until the 12-month term is complete.

Remember: Avoid unwanted charges by cancelling your account five business days before your next billing date.

To cancel your Hootsuite account

  1. Select Settings settings_icon_24x23.png from the left-aligned launch menu.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the window, and then click Account Removal.

Note: If you do not see “Account Removal” your account balance may exceed $0. Updating your billing information will resolve this.

  1. Enter your reason for cancelling, and then click the Remove Account button.

Alternatively, click the Return to Dashboard button to keep your Hootsuite account.
