Cancelling Your HootSuite Account

*Enterprise users must contact their account manager to close their HootSuite account.


Cancelling a HootSuite account requires:

  1. Deleting an organization that was created in your dashboard (if applicable);
  2. And a $0 account balance.

Users will be prompted to delete an organization started in their dashboard before cancelling can continue. Additionally, accounts with an overdue balance will be suspended after 15 days and cannot be cancelled until the account balance is settled. Updating the method of payment will settle an overdue balance, and enable the ability for account cancellation.

Annually billed Pro plans are a one-year commitment. While cancellation requests for annual plans can be submitted, the plan will not be downgraded or cancelled until the 12-month term is complete.

Note: Avoid unwanted charges by cancelling the account five business days before the next billing date.

To cancel a HootSuite account

  1. Click gear (Settings) icon on left-aligned launch menu.
  2. Scroll down to bottom of window, and then click Account Removal.
  3. Type reason for cancelling, and then click Remove Account.

Alternatively, click Return to Dashboard to keep account.
