What to do if a Facebook profile or Page no longer connects to HootSuite

Some users are reporting that they no are longer able to connect their Facebook profile or Page to HootSuite. If this is the case, here's what to do to get Facebook working with HootSuite again.

Please follow the direction here to re-connect your Facebook page to HootSuite:

  1. Select your user profile from the Launch Bar on the left
  2. Select the Gear Icon next to the social network
  3. Select Settings 
  4. Select "Connect with Facebook" 
  5. If you Facebook page is part of an organization, please follow these steps

In case the above doesn't work please attempt the full reconnection method outlined here:

  1. Remove the appropriate profile from HootSuite. For steps on how to do this (with screenshots), see Help Desk article: How to Delete a Social Network Profile.
  2. Log into your Facebook account, and remove HootSuite from Privacy Settings. To do this, see Help Desk article: How to Remove HootSuite from Facebook Privacy Settings.
  3. IMPORTANT: Log out of Facebook.com, then clear the cookies and cache from your web browser.
  4. Log into your HootSuite account again, and reconnect your personal Facebook profile or Page to HootSuite. To reconnect your personal profile, see Help Desk article: How to Add a Personal Facebook Account. To reconnect a Facebook Page, see Help Desk article: How to Add Facebook Fan Pages.

Once you go through these three steps, your Facebook profile or Page should work again with Hootsuite.
